A healthy nourishing green smoothie recipe introduced to the NOW OPEN Yeotown Kitchen in Chiltern Street, Marylebone.
Makes 2-3 servings
1x banana, partially frozen for 2 hours min
1x peeled, prepared avocado, partially frozen for 2 hours min
1 cup milk of your choice – we use hemp milk
2x dates, pitted
2x tsp cacao nibs
Mint leaves to taste (we used about 10)
1x handful spinach leaves
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
A few ice cubes
Squeeze of lemon juice
You will need a high-powered blender (able to withstand “crunchy bits”) to make this smoothie.
Add all ingredients to your blender.
Once blended, try the mixture and add ingredients according to your preferred taste. Julia likes to add a squeeze of lemon juice to enhance the flavours of the smoothie.
If you like your smoothie to be a little less thick (again, this is entirely based on your preference), add a splash more milk or water.
Blend and serve immediately. Garnish with more mint leaves and cacao nibs.
