madeira Island Haven of Health

Not Another Luxury Wellness Retreat

There is a difference between retreating from your life, resetting it, and realigning within it. Yeotown Madeira is built around the third. Not a pulling away, nor a reset where you wipe it all clean. A harmonising of everything you already are.
‍
Named one of The Sunday Times’  World’s Top 50 Spas 2025, Yeotown Madeira is where the wild beauty of nature meets quiet elegance in perfect harmony. An island haven of health carved into forested hills and set amongst the authentic character of the surrounding village life, every detail is designed to realign the mind, spirit and body. At Yeotown Madeira, we offer an unparalleled health focused programme for people who have tried everything else.
‍
For centuries, travellers have come to Madeira to restore their health. They were drawn by its volcanic soil, mineral-rich air, and rare medicinal flora once prized by Victorian explorers.

At Yeotown Madeira, we've reimagined that spirit of island restoration for the modern age. Here, ancestral wisdom meets next-generation self-care in an mindfully refined experience designed not just to take care of you, but to help banish burnout, enhance joy, and renew your zest for life.

Because at Yeotown, we don’t retreat. We don't reset. We Realign.

A Sample Day

Proof that structure and spontaneity can, in fact, get along.

At Yeotown Madeira, no two days are alike. While wellness retreats or medical spas tend to follow a set formula, our tried and tested signature five-day experience flows with the island. It shifts with the weather, the season, and the people who join us. It’s not wellness on repeat. It’s a living, breathing realignment of the self that evolves in real time, blending sixteen years of structure with the spontaneity that keeps it true, human, and alive.

At Yeotown Madeira, we stay deeply guided by the island itself. With its sub-tropical, shifting weather, its seasonal foods, its energy, our team reads the patterns in real time. The wind, the tides, the energy of the group, this is all considered when planning our day. Some mornings call for sea air and mountain hikes; others ask for dynamic movement and reflection. Meals change with the temperature. Cooling and fresh when the sun blazes, warming and grounding when the clouds roll in. This isn’t wellness on autopilot. It’s a living, breathing programme. One that adapts, evolves, and flows with nature and with you. Because optimal health isn’t rigid. It’s responsive.

Accommodation

Madeira in Style:
The island's most mindful stay.
Where boho-island design and wellbeing meet.

Concious Cuisine:
The Yeotown Madeira Island Table

"When you have more than you need,
build a longer table, not a higher fence."

Food at Yeotown Madeira is built around the same belief as everything we do: that what you eat should leave you feeling better than before you sat down.

Here the island does much of the work. Madeira's subtropical climate produces an extraordinary variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, many grown right in our organic retreat garden, and our menus are built around whatever is at its best that week.

Vibrant, seasonal and constantly changing.

The food at Yeotown Madeira is plant-friendly, and high in protein and fibre. Madeira's Atlantic waters are renowned for their fishing, and we take full advantage. Sourcing our fish from the local fishermen, caught that morning and on our plates by evening. No refined sugar, no gluten or dairy, nothing processed, and nothing that quietly undoes the work you're putting in.

Madeira's volcanic soil and subtropical climate produce ingredients that are genuinely exceptional. Tropical fruits, extraordinary vegetables, and fish pulled from clean Atlantic waters. Your Yeotown chef cooks with what the island does best. Freshly squeezed juices, protein boosted smoothies, and desserts made with fruit, cacao and natural sweetness that feel like an indulgence because they are, just not the kind you'll regret.

We ask guests to ease off coffee and refined sugar a few days before arriving, mainly to sidestep the withdrawal headaches that can take the edge off your first day. In their place you'll find matcha, green and white teas, and adaptogenic mushroom lattes rich in antioxidants and kind enough to keep you sharp without the crash.

Food that doesn't just feed you but nourishes you.

Where exactly is Yeotown Madeira

Yeotown Madeira is set on the island of Madeira’s tranquil south coast, in Arco de Calheta. The airport is Cristian Ronalo Airport east of Funchal, with direct flights from most major UK, European and east coast of America airports. Transfers are arranged directly through us and can be booked in advance, with the journey taking around 40 minutes.

What does the five-day Yeotown Realignment include?

Everything. Accommodation, all meals at the Yeotown Island Table, morning yoga and movement sessions, guided hikes through Madeira's extraordinary landscape, afternoon wellness sessions including soundbath, meditation, and specialist massage, and Yeotinis and probiotic homemade Yeotown water kefir throughout. You arrive, you realign. Nothing to think about except showing up.

How many guests are on each week?

The programme runs with a maximum of twelve guests, which is intentional. Small enough for the experience to feel personal, large enough to carry the energy of a group. If you have a preference for one or the other let us know and we can guide you towards a particular week when possible.

Can I come alone?

Absolutely. Many guests come solo. The experience is designed so that arriving alone feels completely natural. From the outset, you’ll be welcomed into a warm, supportive environment where it’s easy to connect with others, while still having plenty of space for personal time and reflection. Group activities, shared meals, and a relaxed atmosphere mean solo guests leave feeling both refreshed and meaningfully connected.

Can couples or small groups book together?

Yes. Whether you're coming as a pair, a group of friends, or a mix, your stay is tailored around whoever is in the room.

What is the accommodation like?

Yeotown Madeira has 11 rooms, 9 of which can be double or set as a twin allowing for a maximum of 19 guests. Each space is individually styled, with most offering en-suite bathrooms and enjoying ocean or garden views. Calm, boho-island chic interiors and flexible options make it easy to find something that suits both solo travellers and those sharing. Options range from classic villa rooms sharing a large bathroom with ocean and mountain views, to more spacious suites with en-suite bathrooms to private lodges with living areas and terraces. The two villa classic rooms share a bathroom, the rest are all ensuite.

What is the food like?

All meals are prepared at Yeotown Madeira by our talented Yeotown chefs using seasonal, local ingredients. The food philosophy has been developed over 16 years, creating a nutrient-rich pescatarian menu free from gluten, dairy, refined sugar, alcohol, and coffee. It’s nourishing, considered, and flavourful. Madeira brings its own pantry of exceptional produce, plant-centric, built around sustainable Atlantic fish, high in protein and fibre, and completely free from processed ingredients. Freshly squeezed juices, creatine-boosted smoothies, and desserts made with fruit and natural sweetness. Dietary requirements are accommodated; just let us know when you book.

How fit do I need to be?

The Yeotown Madeira signature experience is designed for real people, not masters athletes but can easily cater to both and are tailored according to whom we are welcoming. The hikes are accessible and have two guides when neccessary for different levels, and the movement sessions are open to all levels. If you have any injuries or physical considerations, tell us in advance, and we'll work around them.

What should I pack?

Comfortable layers, good walking shoes, a swimsuit, and an open mind. We'll send a full packing list upon booking. Madeira's climate is mild year-round but can surprise you in the mountains, so breathable layers are your friend and a good waterproof jacket.

When does the programme run?

Our award-winning six-day/five-night Yeotown Madeira Realignment runs throughout the year from Tuesday morning to Saturday lunchtime, with arrivals and dinner on the Monday.

How much does it cost?

The five-night Yeotown Madeira stay is fully inclusive, with prices starting from €3,400 and ranging up to €4,500 depending on your room choice. Your stay includes island boho-chic designed accommodation, three nourishing meals per day, fresh juices and tonics, a full programme of guided movement and hikes, three massages, and a deeply supportive small-group experience led by our expert team.

How do I book?

You can book your space by clicking here or get in touch via email madeira@yeotown.com or by telephone at +351 91 503 8400.

Can I hire Yeotown Madeira privately?
